Anthem of the Seas Day-4 (2024)
May 1st, 2024 (Day 4)
We were woken up in the middle of the night by a coffee mug tipping over. It startled Esther more than it did me, but we quickly fell back to sleep. We woke up this morning a little late, at 9 a.m. It was a very relaxing morning, with the ship rocking gently from the motion of the ocean.
We went to the Windjammer for a quick bite and then went on a nice walk on the walking track located on Deck 15. The track encompasses the entire top deck of the ship and is two lanes with lounge chairs on either side. There are some serious movers up there, so if it's early in the morning, don't block both lanes and just keep to the right.
Esther and I then went down to the Music Hall on Decks 3 and 4 to listen to an entertaining seminar about TV Sitcoms. We stayed in the Music Hall for a few hours, during which time we played a game of guessing the number between ourselves, something we saw on TikTok.
Just down the way on deck 4 is Sorrentos, a pizza place on board that serves over 19,000 slices of pizza a week. I went over and grabbed Esther and I a slice each for a snack before our next event.
At about 11 a.m., we moved up front to watch the game show Higher or Lower. It was a game in which they asked 100 guests a question, and you had to guess if the number shown was higher or lower than the number of guests who answered it. For example, "How many guests admitted to not washing their hands after using the bathroom?" The number was "19." So, was it higher or lower? Notice the keyword "admitted," yeah, that's the indicator... The answer was "Lower - 14".
We returned to our cabin in the afternoon and relaxed on our balcony for the rest of the afternoon. Esther read her book while I watched Star Trek: Discovery. We had another time adjustment at 2 p.m., when we jumped ahead an hour.
Dinner in the main dining room was "A Taste of the World". We both struggled to find something that looked appealing, but I got roasted tomato soup and shrimp scampi linguine while Esther chose vegetable tempura and Diane stake. They were all good choices, and the food was delicious.
With our dinner at 5pm and not getting done until 6:30 pm, we quickly moved from the dining room on deck 3 in the back of the ship to the Royal Theater on deck 4, located in the front of the ship, to catch the Greg London show. He was a Las Vegas performer from 2000-2015, and even though he has not been performing in Vegas a lot since then, his show was amazing! He excited and moved the crowd, even encouraging them to join him on stage for the final song.
After the show let out, we headed to Boleros, still on deck 4 but located toward the back of the ship. We found a nice couch in the back of the club, where we watched guests do karaoke for the next hour or so. Since the ship changes time daily to keep up with the time zones we're crossing, we headed to our room and retired at about 10 p.m.
