London Day-1 (Anthem Cruise 2024)

 May 10th, 2024 (London Day-1 & Anthem Day-13)

Once we made it off Anthem of the Seas, we located the tour group and had to wait until 8:15 a.m. for our bus to show up and board.

The bus was a newer coach and the A/C worked well throughout the day as it warmed up. We left the cruise port at about 8:40 a.m., just a few minutes late, and made our way to Bath, U.K., and arrived at about 9:45 a.m.. We were able to tour the Roman Baths and walk around the city for about 90 minutes before we had to get back on the bus.

We all made it back on time and were able to get to Windsor Castle by 3:25 p.m. We had just under two hours to explore the castle and the city center. The castle was amazing and filled with antique remains from the last several hundred years. One could spend all day in the castle and still not see everything!

After we arrived back at the bus, we were all transferred to 6-passenger vans to take all the tour participants to London. Even though it was only a 25-mile trip, it took over 2 hours to get to our hotel.

The hotel we picked was close to the city center and had an underground station nearby. CitizenM fit that with the Underground directly under the hotel. The room was very small, in fact smaller than our cabin on Anthem of the Seas, but it was a place to sleep while we were in London.

After we checked in and got our luggage up to the room, we wandered over to St Katharine's Docks for dinner.  There we ate at Zizzi's, a quaint pizzeria on the docks.

We returned to the room to call it a night and get some sleep before the next day in London.
