Anthem of the Seas Day-12 (2024)
May 9th, 2024 (Day 12)
Today, we didn't rush to get breakfast since it was a port day in Le Harve, France, and we didn't plan an excursion.
We ate our morning breakfast in the Windjammer which was almost empty! We enjoyed some omelets and hash browns and I get a donut as we were walking out. The donuts were really good and fresh!
We ended up staying onboard until 10am to avoid the crowds of people going on excursions. We went down to deck 3 and right off the gangway to Le Harve. We walked about a half a mile to the city’s center passing by a local fish market and several small shops along the way. Le Harve is very small and it didn’t take long to make it to the city center.
We found a few shops, picked up some hats, and stopped by Frank's hot dog place. Esther picked out a Nutella muffin, and I picked out a donut. Just having a donut on the ship and then having this one, I was able to compare them. The French donut tasted more like bread than pastry, and it was very good. I would rather have the French one if I was given the option.
We continued walking around for a bit and ended up getting back to the ship about 12:15 p.m.. We both changed into some attire to wear in the Solarium for some sun. We also stopped by the bar to get a “Char’d Pinapple”, basically pineapple juice with a shot of fireball. We stayed for about 2 hours, I then went back to the room to get some things ready to pack while Esther stayed and enjoyed the sun for another hour or so.
We packed most of the luggage and were ready to go for the next three days in London. We tried to fit everything that we needed into the small bag while we the two other bags we packed so we would not need to open them until we got back home.
We made our way to the main dining room at 5 p.m. for our last meal. It was very empty since "All Aboard" was not until 7:30 p.m. Dessert was nice tonight, Esther had Crema Catalina while I had Warm Apple Cobler.
After dinner, we went for a walk on the top deck for about 30-40 minutes. It was nice and cool but felt good.
We returned to our cabin to finish packing and relax for the night. Since we are not party animals, we didn't partake in all the final parties. We prefer a mellow, relaxing cruise versus a party-hard vibe. Everyone's luggage had to be out in the hallway by 10 p.m. in order to get it all off the ship in an orderly manner the next morning.
